Acclaimed actor John Boyega has revealed that he found it highly suspicious that he was ‘randomly selected’ for security purposes multiple times. He stated he understood well why the security measures were in check and absolutely necessary.
John had to constantly fly back and forth across the world for auditions. He flew to LA on cheap tickets a lot and stayed for a week or two at a time. He said that it was during this time he was seemingly targeted for random checks – every time. Fed up of the same story again and again, he even called the airline out on it. The airline told him it was a problem ‘stateside, ’ issued him a letter and the checks stopped. He insisted however that the checks were persistent until that point.
He said that although he knew well how important the security measures were, he got real tired of it at one point. That’s when he decided to call the airline out on it, saying he was “still not a terrorist.”
Earlier too, Boyega had retorted to critics who called for a boycott of the new Star Wars because a black actor had been cast as the lead. He unflinchingly tweeted them to “get used to it.” He has been highly praised for his role in Star wars:The Force Awakens. He is rumored to be starring in the next installment of the super hit “Pacific Rim” movie. Boyega will reportedly be playing the son of Idris Elba’s character from the first installment.
He will be starring in “The Circle” alongside Emma Watson and Tom Hanks, then follow it up with Star Wars:Episode VIII. He’s also slated to be involved in the animated series Watership Down, alongside Ben Kingsley and James McAvoy.
