Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha has issued a statement clarifying that she will not be performing at the Justin Bieber concert to be held in Mumbai during the month of May. The clarification comes after she had a bitter spat with Bollywood singer Armaan malik on Twitter over the issue. The whole upheaval was started a while ago when singer Kailash Kher had expressed disappointment with the choice of an actor over accomplished singers performing at the Bieber concert.
The singer had posted a link on twitter to an article in which acclaimed singer Kailash Kher had revealed that he was let down over the news that an actor had been approached to perform in the Bieber concert. Kher had said that as Sonakshi was an actor primarily, and a known singer should’ve been roped instead of her for the concert. He said that people all over the world will believe her to be an accomplished singer from India, while actual singing artists will not get their due recognition.
Armaan Malik has crooned the latest title track for Sonakshi Sinha’s upcoming movie “Noor.” He agreed with Kher’s opinion and stated that singing was not the playing field of actors and it must be left to the professionals. Responding to Malik’s tweet, Sonakshi took a dig of her own by saying that secure artists must not hinder the growth of other artists. She also hinted that Armaan had volte-faced from his earlier stance where he had wanted her to sing for him. He corrected her though and told her it was not him but composer Amaal Malik who must’ve asked her.
To put aside the source of all confusion, Sonakshi tweeted that she was never meant to be a part of Bieber’s tour. She claimed that media houses had carried reports of her participation despite her clearing the air on it several times. She urged unsettled twitteratis to “just chill” in the late night post. Justin Bieber is scheduled to perform in India on May 10th as part of his Purpose World Tour.
