“A run for cancer awareness has been organized and will be held in Chennai on June 11th 2017. The venue for the event is the Marina Lighthouse (Marina Beach), Mylapore. The rallying cry for the race is “If you can’t feed a hundred people then just feed one” and is being organized by Let’s Feed Chennai. The marathon which will be run for a noble cause is expected to witness a large number of participants.
Water and energy drinks will be made available to runners at 2 Km, 4 Km, 5 Km, 7 km and 9 Km as well as at the end of the marathon. Markers will be placed strategically along the course to gauge distance. Medical staff and Doctors will be present at the venue in case runners need emergency medical attention. Cardiac ambulances will also be there plying on the same route as the marathoners, as a precautionary measure. You will find plenty of volunteers at the venue – along the route, at the beginning and the end as well to assist you in whatever you need help with. Breakfast will be served to runners at the end of the race.
Finishers will get their medals on the spot upon crossing the finish line. Clean washroom facility will be provided at the venue for the participants. There are no parking facilities provided at the venue and visitors must park their vehicles nearby at their own risk. BIB distribution dates and venue will be informed in due course of time to runners after confirming participation. Route maps for the event will be released on the Facebook event page as well as the website prior to the run.
