Piercy, California: The Northern Nights Music Festival (NNMF) is scheduled to be held from July 14 – 16 this year at 83950 Road 442 East Piercy, Cook’s Valley Campground. Launched in the year 2013, this relatively new festival has managed to draw a sizeable crowd each year with its unbeatable spirit and a fantastic lineup of headliners. Last year saw impressive performances by artists like Justin Martin and Beatles Antique. The lineup this year includes G. Jones, Big Wild, Random Rab, The Range and Isaac Chambers among scores of others. Apart from performances by acclaimed artists, the event focuses on launching talented newbies. With a platform so big they, they are bound to create ripples in the right circles.
An EDM with a twist, this festival is more than just another music event. For hard-core party animals who do not wish to stop even when performances for the day are done, get to the ‘silent discos’ which run until dawn and you can let your hair down there. As you enjoy the music festival in the Redwoods, you have the option to go swimming in clear waters of the South Fork Eel River. Don’t forget to bring sunscreen and bathing suits, and prepare to dive into cool waters between performances. For the ‘social worker’ in you, try volunteering at the event if you’re not the fussy types and don’t mind picking up a bit of trash here and there. If that’s not your thing, then consider volunteering to lead a yoga class or an art workshop for which you need to get in touch with the event organizers a little ahead of time.
Although the festival focuses on vegan and organic options, there will nevertheless be a great spread of food to enjoy at the event. Beer and wine will largely be brought in from local breweries, so there’s absolutely no chance of running out! Keeping in vibe with the ‘outdoorsy’ feel of the festival, camping at the grounds is allowed. But those who don’t feel like roughing it out, there are plenty of hotels in the surrounding areas. But we’re quite sure that once here, you will not want to leave and take a chance to miss anything. So all music lovers, keep yourselves free for these ecstatic three days and have a blast!
