“If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one. “
That is so true! You can always feed just one person. That would be me! You can always feed me well because I have booked cheap flights to India from USA just to eat there. I always wanted to do this. I mean I always wanted to book direct flights to India and other countries so that I could reach the destinations as early as possible and try out all the new adventures of that country. I never knew that this dream of mine would come true so early and that I would be sharing it with all of you so that even you can book direct flights to India to India or non-stop flights to India. If you are a bit hazy about traveling long distances then the best thing you can do is book non-stop flights to India. That will be a great relief. Today I will be taking you on a tour in the East of India where you will be finding even more interesting food dishes and etiquettes. These cuisines are so famous that they are even taken care in the international airlines and their services. I had witnessed Air India serving the dishes of Kolkata. That was such a sweet gesture to portray the Indian gesture. You even get to find the Indian version of welcome in the international airports in India. I am lucky I got the chance of witnessing it.
So the east India is a very passionate mixture of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items. There are diverse cultural and lingual aspects along with changes and differences even in the geographical and historical views. The cuisine of this corner of India makes it stand as unique and unsurpassable. The fascination of the people of Kolkata about the fish and the dishes made from it is incomparable and this has been spread not only to the east but to the whole of India. The love for fish in Kolkata is just infectious and spreads to other people who get tempted to book cheap flights to Kolkata. Part of Odisha also shares the love for fish and rice with the state of West Bengal due to the long coastline the duo states shares on the Bay of Bengal. Fish and other seafood are in plenty in this region and so are the recipes. There is something else that is unique about the desserts of Odisha and that is they use milk products in abundance. The kheer from Kolkata and Odisha are worth dying for. This special kheer is served in flights too. People who book business class flights to India would know it as Air India is always coming up with innovative food ideas for foodies like me.
Talking further, what unites Bihar, Jharkhand, Kolkata and Odisha is the magical mix of ingredients like seeds and spices used for modifying dishes. Known as ‘Panch Phoran’, the mix consists of aniseed, mustard, fenugreek seed, cumin seed and black cumin seed. This doesn’t end here. To be factual, East India is comprised of the states of West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura and Orissa. This region is home to beaches and mountains and Cherrawpunji, the city with the highest rainfall in the world. Because of the climate, Eastern India grows a lot of rice! Green vegetables and fruit are also abundant and thus are the recipes using them. People, though, are a balanced mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian. The geographical location of this region means its food bears the strong influence of Chinese and Mongolian cuisines.
I had the privilege to taste the foods of the East and that is the most wonderful thing to talk about. I wouldn’t even mind booking last minute flights to India if I have to because the food is amazing here. So if you are equally interested to taste foods of the East like me then search for cheap flights from USA to India and taste the foods of the eastern corner. I will be talking about the signature dishes of the East in my next post so stay in touch just like the way you did for the North and the South dishes. Ciao!
