Hyderabad: The 3rd and final T20I between India and Australia is scheduled to be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad this Friday the 13th. With the series now level as both teams have won one match each, the final T20I is expected to be a sure-fire thriller with either side trying to clinch the series.
When India beat Australia in the ODI series 4-1, everyone naturally assumed they would walk away with the honors in the shortest version of the game as well. But after being defeated by India in the first T20I at Ranchi, the Aussies managed to make a powerful comeback and down the Indian side in the second T20I at Guwahati. This final match to be played in Hyderabad will be watched by millions from the edge of their seats.
Despite defeating the Aussies in the ODI series and the first T20I, Indian Captain Virat Kohli has always maintained that Australia is a formidable team to beat. The Australian team will now walk into the series-decider in a different frame of mind having thrashed India soundly in the last T20I.
David Warner did a commendable job as the replacement to Captain Steve Smith by making most of the available resources at hand. Behrendorff made his captain’s job easier with the stunning spell of swing bowling he showed. Moises Henriques did a fabulous job as well after being promoted to bat at number 3.
The pitch at the Hyderabad ground is known generally as a good one for batting and fans will be expecting smashing hits after the slow second match at Guwahati. Though the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium has served as a regular venue for IPL matches, this will be the first time that an international T20 match will be played here.
