Many options for indulging in such activities have also come up in India. But don’t worry, these sports have experienced instructors and/or guides to help you along and keep you safe.

Bungee Jumping in Rishikesh

India’s highest bungee jumping point is in Rishikesh, at an altitude of 83 meters; making it one of the most adventurous activities in the country. It is also known for having the first fixed platform, which was designed by a team from New Zealand. Here, you can find jump masters who are qualified to teach you bungee jumping. 

Mountain Biking in Ladakh

The Khardung La Pass in Ladakh is a great place for mountain biking, being elevated at a height of 5,360 meters. It should be on your outdoor adventure activities list when you visit India, as it showcases a picturesque landscape of the surroundings. The Khardung La Pass is situated between Nubra and Shyok Valleys, being 40 km from Leh, the capital of Ladakh. 

Trekking in Sikkim

Home to the third highest mountain in the world, Mount Kanchenjunga, Sikkim is most attractive to lovers of mountains from the world over, but its painting-like beauty is something everybody will surely enjoy. Trekking is the best adventure sport offered here. In case you are a beginner, then one-day trekking is perfect for you. In the case of foreign nationals, they need to register themselves with the Department of Tourism and Aviation, Government of Sikkim. You will be provided a local guide to help you along.

Hiking in Maharashtra

Rumored to have been built around 2000 years ago, the Sinhagad Fort is associated with a lot of history, especially in terms of battles. It is built strategically at a place in modern-day Velhe, Maharashtra that is surrounded by steep slopes, thus very difficult for a less-experienced person to enter easily. Hence, it is the best sport for adventure junkie hiking. The fort only has two entrances – the Kalyan Darwaza and the Pune Darwaza. The Sinhagad Fort Hike will take you to the latter. 

Scuba diving at Netrani

Netrani Island off the coast of Karnataka offers a chance at Scuba Diving to all – be they the most experienced or the least. It is one of the best destinations for adventure sports in India. The beginners will get a chance for a one-day dive with a short course, in which they will be taught some of the basics of the sport. Visitors to the island have the option of doing a 3-day course on Scuba Diving, based on their level of experience. 

Parasailing in Kerala

Payyambalam Beach in Kerala is a great place for parasailing in India. It is essentially a secluded place, good for some peace and quiet from the noise and hustle of busy city life. When you’re parasailing here, you will have a grand view of the beach itself as well as the Arabian Sea. It is a great experience to have and hold in your box of memories and also, one of the best adventure sports in India.

Microlight Flying in Bengaluru

Microlight airplanes are small two-seater planes – much like the first ever planes invented – meant for the pilot and a passenger. For tourists, these planes are usually used for joy rides. Only one person can book a slot and fly at a time with the pilot. While on flight, the pilot will explain to you the basics of flying. You will then be allowed to do some basic tricks, such as making a turn and varying the altitude of the plane.
