Ancient India is a cradle of civilization and the Vedas are an inherent part of Indian civilization, culture, and ethos. India’s first Vedic park will once again strengthen the understanding of our glorious past. Most of the 90’s kids who watched, “Bharat Ek Khoj,” on Doordarshan must have heard the Nasadiya Sukta from Rig Veda, umpteen times. The hymn of creation once reverberated in every Indian house, as they watched the iconic TV series that covered Indian history. However, with the passage of time and the advent of modern technology, the resonance of that hymn has gradually faded.
The new Vedic park is a great opportunity for youngsters to understand the ancient text and the timeless wisdom in it. They recently inaugurated the park in Noida Sector 78, Uttar Pradesh. The majestic theme park is not merely a knowledge center, it is an eco-friendly zone with 50,000 plants. All these plant species (kalpa vriksha, neem and banyan) are mentioned in Vedic literature. It is indeed a magnificent blend of natural beauty, ancient wisdom, and rich Indian culture.
This would be the first Vedic park in India and was built at a cost of 27 crores. The area where the park is built used to be a trash yard. After the soil compression, all the refurbishment took place by changing the soil and planting trees.
There are important passages from Rig Veda, Atharva Veda, Yajur Veda, and Sama Veda inside the park. The idea is to introduce visitors to the Ancient Text.
Seven Zones
The seven zones dedicated to the seven wise Vedic Sages are Kashyap, Bharadwaj, Gautam, Atri, Vasishtha, Vishvamitra, and Agastya. Visitors will understand the life and achievements of these great sages and their phenomenal contribution to Indian wisdom.
Visitors will introduce themselves to the holy scriptures, and themed laser shows with a Vedic orientation will enlighten and educate them. The most aesthetic part of India’s first Vedic park is the walls that portray visuals from Vedas. It is certainly a fascinating combination of art & spiritual wisdom.
