In a monumental stride towards safeguarding India’s rich cultural legacy, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is all set to unveil its groundbreaking ‘Adopt a Heritage 2.0’ initiative on September 4, 2023, at the prestigious Samvet Auditorium, IGNCA, New Delhi. This visionary program invites corporate leaders and entities to become guardians of over 3,600 historical treasures scattered across our nation.

These magnificent monuments not only narrate the captivating stories of India’s cultural tapestry but also serve as catalysts for our economic growth. Under the ‘Adopt a Heritage 2.0’ program, ASI cordially invites corporate partners to channel their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds towards enriching the amenities at these historical gems. Interested stakeholders can embark on this journey of cultural preservation by adopting an entire monument or specific amenities through a dedicated web portal. This portal offers comprehensive insights into available India’s heritage options, gap analysis, and estimated financial needs.

Meticulous Selection and Responsibility

The selection process for corporate stakeholders will involve extensive consultations, diligent due diligence, and assessments of economic and developmental prospects at each site. Once chosen, these stakeholders will assume the noble responsibility of improving and maintaining amenities in areas such as hygiene, accessibility, safety, and knowledge spreading. Their involvement will earn them well-deserved recognition as responsible and heritage-friendly entities. While the initial appointment term spans five years, the possibility of extension remains open.

Unveiling the Indian Heritage Mobile App

To enhance public engagement and awareness, ASI is also set to launch a user-friendly mobile app titled ‘Indian Heritage.’ This app will provide users with comprehensive information and captivating photographs of heritage monuments across India as there are many places and things to do in India. Additionally, it will offer details on geo-tagged locations, public amenities, and a convenient feedback mechanism for citizens. The app’s launch will occur in phases, ensuring broader accessibility.

In another stride towards efficiency, ASI to introduce the e-Permission portal to simplify the process of obtaining permissions for filming and photography at these cherished monuments. This portal promises to expedite various permissions, eliminating operational and logistical challenges.

The ‘Adopt a Heritage 2.0‘ initiative marks a momentous leap towards securing India’s cultural wealth. With collective efforts, you can ensure that India’s heritage continues to inspire and flourish for generations to come. Join hands with ASI in this transformative journey and be a part of India’s cultural resurgence.
