Inspired by his experiences working at Moe’s Southwest Grill in the US and a passion for San Francisco’s Mission-style burritos, Mueller, along with two friends and a chef from San Francisco, launched the first California Burrito in Bangalore at Embassy Golf Links Tech Park.

Even in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, it kept expanding. In March 2020 it had 37 outlets nationwide. By early 2025, it also celebrated opening its 100th store in Bengaluru and had thousands of people working behind counters for it.
