Passengers flying from Seoul Incheon Airport (ICN) to Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL) will no longer need to reclaim and recheck their luggage when connecting to another flight. Instead, travelers can head straight to their next gate after clearing security, with new Delta Airlines baggage policy saving them about 25 minutes.
The change also applies to passengers traveling on Delta’s partner airline, Korean Air, when flying from Seoul to Atlanta and then connecting to another Delta flight. This is the second route for Delta’s One-Stop Security program. The airline first introduced it on flights from London Heathrow (LHR) to Atlanta.
Delta Baggage Policy
One-Stop Security is a joint program between the TSA, airlines, and international aviation security agencies in participating countries. It is designed to make international-to-domestic flight connections faster and more convenient. With the program, passengers arriving from approved airports can skip the step of collecting checked luggage, clearing customs, and rechecking bags for their onward flight.
In addition to expanding One-Stop Security, Delta is also introducing App Bag Drop, a faster way to check luggage.
Delta’s Touchless ID Expansion
Delta also plans to expand its Touchless ID service, which allows travelers to use facial recognition technology instead of showing a boarding pass and photo ID. This service is available to customers who have both TSA PreCheck and a Delta SkyMiles membership and have opted in to the program.
With Touchless ID, bag drop transactions can take a few seconds. Security checks at TSA kiosks are also completed in less time. Touchless ID bag drop and security lanes are already available at Atlanta, Detroit, Los Angeles, New York-LaGuardia, New York-JFK, Salt Lake City, Washington D.C.-National, Seattle. Delta plans to have Touchless ID available at all hub airports by the end of the year.
For travelers flying on a flight from Seoul to Atlanta, the Delta Airlines baggage policy helps in having a hassle-free flying experience. By not having to recheck bags on some routes, travelers save time and have a more convenient flying experience. For travelers booking their next long-haul flights would enjoy this new Delta baggage policy international travel conveniences.
