Dubai International Airport is the World’s Busiest International Airport for a Decade Now

As a popular transiting hub, Dubai International Airport (DXB) receives millions of passengers every year. It has been one of the most busiest airports in the world for a long time. As per the preliminary data released by The Airports Council International (ACI), DXB has reaffirmed its position as the world’s busiest international airport for passengers. Dubai International Airport has maintained this top spot for a decade now. 

Dubai Airport anticipates welcoming 86.9 million passengers this year. Although a revised forecast indicates a promising growth potential. The airport aims to surpass its previous record of 89.1 million passengers, which was set in 2018. DXB targets an annual traffic of 93.8 million by 2025. These projections align with DXB’s strategic initiatives to enhance its aviation infrastructure and attract more international footfall.

Top 5 World’s Busiest International Airports in 2023

According to ACI, after DXB, London Heathrow was the second most busiest airport in the world for international passengers. It is also a crucial transiting hub connecting passengers from all over the world. Be it when traveling from USA to India or anywhere else, London Heathrow Airport lets international passengers seamlessly connect for their next flight. 

Amsterdam’s Schiphol is the third busiest airport in the world (international), it is followed by Paris Charles de Gaulle, which is another major transiting hub in Europe. Singapore’s Changi has grabbed the 5th spot, improving its position from 9th in 2022. 

Most Busiest Airports in the World (Overall)

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has maintained its position as the world’s busiest airport for both domestic and international passengers. While DXB ranks second in the overall segment, Dallas/Fort Worth has grabbed the third spot ACI’s list of most busiest airports in the world. India’s Delhi Airport has also been featured in the list and has been ranked as the 10th busiest airport in the world. 

DXB’s continued success as the world’s busiest international airport reflects its resilience and strategic vision. With a commitment to excellence and ambitious growth plans, Dubai International Airport remains a pivotal player in the global aviation industry.
