The Indian passport is the second cheapest passport in the world, after the United Arab Emirates. A survey claims that the Indian passport is the most affordable in the world per year of validity, along with having a low acquisition cost.

While Indian passports cost USD 18.07 with a ten-year validity, UAE passports are less expensive at USD 17.70 for five years. This information was found in the research, which analyzed several international passports’ acquisition costs, validity, and travel benefits. When it comes to annual costs, the Indian passport is the cheapest, costing only $1.81. This low cost makes it especially appealing for individuals looking to book cheap international flights.

Economic Value and Visa-Free Access

Even with its financial benefit, just 62 nations allow visa-free travel with the Indian passport which is the cheapest second passport in the world. Passports from countries such as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) provide extensive visa-free travel along with low acquisition costs, making them affordable and enabling global mobility. This creates a clear contrast with other passports.

On the higher end of the range, passports from nations like Australia and Mexico cost USD 225.78 and USD 231.05 for ten years. These nations, along with others like the USA and Canada, provide significant visa-free travel, indicating a trade-off between the cost of a passport and the flexibility to travel.

The research also emphasizes how crucial it is to get travel insurance to protect against passport loss, theft, or damage while traveling internationally. Make sure you have reliable insurance coverage to ease the financial strain and anxiety in the case of unexpected problems while traveling.
