Mangaluru International Airport will be increasing its connectivity to Bengaluru in the Summer Schedule 2025, starting from March 30. Already operating seven daily flights, the airport will see an increase to eight daily flights at the beginning of the summer schedule, with six flights operated by IndiGo and two operated by Air India Express. The frequency will then increase again to nine daily flights from May 23, with IndiGo increasing a seventh service.

This growth is an indication of increased travel demand between Mangaluru and Bengaluru, offering passengers greater flexibility in accommodating their schedules. Increased connectivity is likely to enhance business and tourist travel between the two cities, promoting economic and cultural exchanges.

Besides adding more flights to Bengaluru, Mangaluru International Airport keeps other prominent domestic destinations serviced by strong connections. The Mangaluru-Mumbai sector retains five daily services; three with IndiGo and two with Air India Express. Delhi is reachable through one daily flight each from IndiGo and Air India Express. Hyderabad is served by two daily flights and an additional flight on three days a week, all operated by IndiGo. Chennai connectivity has two IndiGo flights a day.

Internationally, Air India Express has taken steps to improve its services to passengers. Both the weekly flights to Bahrain now operate from Mangaluru airport directly, eliminating the previous routing through Kannur. In addition, the airline operates two daily flights to Dubai, a daily flight to Abu Dhabi, and several weekly flights to places like Dammam, Muscat, Doha, Jeddah, and Kuwait. IndiGo makes international connectivity possible with a daily flight to Abu Dhabi on the 232-seater Airbus A-321 Neo and four weekly flights to Dubai.

These advancements in Mangaluru International Airport enhance connectivity at the regional level as well as ease travel for people going to international destinations, such as to the USA.
