Ahead of its merger with Air India, which is likely in 2025, Vistara appears to be on track to reach a fleet of 70 aircraft. The airline inducted its 50th Airbus A320neo in December last year. And now Vistara is confident that it shall receive its final Boeing 787 wide-body jet by March or April 2024.
As of now, Vistara operates with a fleet of 67 jets. It predominantly consists of single-aisle Airbus A320s, complemented by five Boeing 787s. Currently, Vistara operates six 787-9s, with a seventh awaiting delivery
Enhancing International Presence
With new aircraft being added in its fleet, Vistara aims to further improve its international presence before its merger with Air India. The latter already boasts an excellent international flight network and is the leading carrier offering nonstop flights from USA to India. Although the destinations Vistara will operate the final Boeing 787 aircraft are not clear, but this addition will undoubtedly boost its flight operations.
