ebebThe Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) has recently unveiled an exciting addition to the tourism offerings in the Harsil Valley, near Uttarkashi. White water rafting on the Bhagirathi River will open soon to introduce a thrilling adventure to complement the valley’s renowned Char Dham Yatra pilgrimage and picturesque trekking routes. The Uttarakhand government took a great initiative to enhance tourism in rural areas.

Under this scheme, the UTDB has identified three prime locations for river rafting, one of which is the stretch between the Jangla and Jhala bridges on the Bhagirathi River. Minister of Tourism Satpal Maharaj expressed that this endeavor would provide benefits to both pilgrims and adventure enthusiasts. They will be able to immerse themselves in the exhilaration of white river rafting in Harsil very soon. Along with it, this initiative will help generate employment prospects in the tourism sector for the local youth and, consequently, will boost the region’s economy.

Colonel Ashwini Pundir, the Additional Chief Executive Officer of UTDB, emphasized the significance of introducing white river rafting in Harsil Valley. He said that this tourism initiative would offer visitors a distinct and unforgettable experience along with contributing to the growth of Uttarakhand’s tourism industry. The conditions for river rafting between Jangla and Jhala bridges will be ideal for this thrilling activity. Thus, tourists will be able to enjoy white river rafting in Harsil with all the safety precautions.
