Severe summer storms caused destruction in many parts of the USA. These storms not only affected normal lives but also had a huge impact on the tourism industry. As roads were damaged, many tourist places like national parks were closed for visitors. But if you were wondering, when Death Valley will reopen in California, there is some good news. One of the top places to visit in USA, the Death Valley National Park reopens partially. It welcomed visitors on Sunday, 15th October.

The CA-190 road is now open that will give tourists access into the park from the west through Lone Pine. It will also be accessible through the Death Valley Junction entrance in the east. Apart from these, all gates still remain shut.

Why was the Death Valley National Park Shut?

As the area received more than 2 inches of rainfall due to a tropical storm in a single day, it was shut for visitors in August. This severe rainfall washed off trails, undercut pavements, and resulted in flooding. Joshua Tree National Park was also closed due to the same reason.
