Considered as the tallest waterfalls in the Philippines, what makes Aliwagwag falls remarkable is its many tiers creating more than 100 smaller cascades. It seems as if the water just emerges from somewhere in the thick greenery (of Aliwagwag Protected Landscape) and flows through the stair-like massive rocks. Although you’ll not be able to catch the entire view of this purportedly highest waterfall in the Philippines, a highway bridge near the base offers good views of lower cascades. Maria Cristina Falls:
Situated in “The City of Majestic Falls” (Iligan), Maria Cristina falls of the Agus River is the most famous waterfall in the Philippines. It is also the main source of electric power in the area and is regulated by the National Power Corporation (NPC). Maria Cristina Falls, falling from a height of 320 feet, is also referred to as “Twin Falls” because a rock at the brink splits the rushing water into two separate falls. One can view the grandeur of these falls from the NPC ‘s viewing deck. Also, National Power Nature Park developed by NPC offers many thrilling adventure activities like rock-climbing, zip-lining, white water rafting, etc.

Limunsudan Falls:
“The City of Majestic Falls” has nearly 24 glorious waterfalls, and Limunsudan Falls is one of Iligan’s pride. With a height of 870 feet, this is the second highest waterfall in the Philippines. This isolated waterfall has two distinct tiers, and its lower cascade alone measures 400 feet. The remote location of Limunsudan Falls (55 km away from the city proper) keeps it off the tourist radar, but you won’t regret taking up the long and arduous hike to reach this awe-inspiring waterfall. In fact, the raw beauty of both the hiking trail and the destination is too impressive to be missed.

Tinuy-an Falls:
This multi-tiered waterfall having a breathtaking width of 95 meters is said to be the widest waterfall in the Philippines. Famous as the ‘Little Niagara Falls of the Philippines,’ the mesmerizing view of this 55-meter-high curtain-type waterfall has been featured in many international travel magazines. The unspoiled green surroundings add to the charm of this beautiful waterfall. Moreover, early visitors are in for a pleasant treat! As the sunlight penetrates through the water spray, a rainbow appears in the area every morning (between 9 am and 11 am). Catch the early flight to Davao and embark on a Bislig sightseeing tour starting with this magical waterfall. You can also ride a bamboo raft close to the base and enjoy a relaxing natural massage offered by the plummeting cascades!
