They say the sky is the limit. Well, humans love exploring and are now seeking to go beyond the skies. A new era in space tourism is set to begin with the opening of the world’s first space hotel likely in 2027. Rightly called Voyager Station, this ambitious project is led by an American space construction company, Orbital Assembly Corporation (OAC).

The Voyager Station will orbit Earth, much like the moon. It is designed to house up to 280 guests and 112 crew members, totalling 400 people at full capacity. Although the idea of a space hotel isn’t completely new. Continue reading to know what inspired the hotel design.

What inspired the design of the world’s first space hotel?

Voyager Station is inspired by the concept of a rotating wheel. This was apparently first proposed by Wernher von Braun in the mid-20th century. The station will create artificial gravity by rotating around 1.5 times each minute. This initially simulates lunar gravity. Furthermore, it is crucial for guest comfort as it will allow people to walk, eat, and sleep much like they do on Earth.

How will guests travel to Voyager Station?

Guests will travel to the world’s first space hotel from Kennedy Space Center. Upon arrival, they will enter through a central docking hub and move to their living quarters via pressurized transfer shafts. The space hotel is made up of 24 modules arranged in a circular wheel. This provides approximately 125,000 square feet of functional space.

What facilities will be available on world’s first space hotel?

Voyager Station will serve as more than just a sleeping place. Facilities will include a full-service restaurant and bar serving space-friendly cuisine, a concert hall for zero-gravity musical performances, a gym designed for low-gravity workouts, a cinema, and observation decks with panoramic views of Earth. Each module will have a specific purpose, such as accommodation, recreation, hospitality, or research.

Before the hotel opens, OAC plans to test its technology with smaller prototypes like the Gravity Ring and Pioneer stations, expected to be operational by 2025. These will help refine systems and ensure safety for future guests. Well until the space hotel is open, you can explore the world by booking international flight tickets with Indian Eagle. You will get the best available airfare along with excellent customer support.

Indian Eagle cheap flight deals have been making travel affordable for thousands of people traveling between USA and India. You can rely on its 18+ years of customer service and book an itinerary seamlessly.
