After American Airlines introduced touchless ID at key airports in USA, another carrier is following the same path. Alaska Airlines is introducing TSA PreCheck Touchless ID at its major hubs in the USA. By using face recognition technology, Alaska Airlines TSA PreCheck will let passengers pass through TSA checkpoints without showing a physical ID or boarding pass.

Which US airports offer TSA PreCheck Touchless ID for Alaska Airlines passengers?

TSA PreCheck Touchless ID checkpoints for Alaska Airlines passengers will be available at these hubs:

  1. Seattle–Tacoma International Airport: from June 26.
  2. Los Angeles International Airport: from July 8.
  3. Portland International Airport: from July 10.

Notably, Alaska already has the system in use at Atlanta (ATL) and Washington, D.C. (DCA).

How does the Alaska Airlines TSA PreCheck work?

  • Eligible travelers opt in with their TSA PreCheck KTN and passport.
  • A face scan replaces physical ID at security checkpoints.
  • An icon appears on the boarding pass when Touchless ID is active.

How will TSA PreCheck Touchless ID help Alaska Airlines passengers?

  • No ID or boarding pass needed at checkpoints.
  • Faster security lines.
  • More seamless and contactless screening.
