Delhi Airport recently implemented biometric registration desks in the immigration process to improve customer convenience. With this approach, international travelers coming with visas can expect a significant reduction in delays and a more streamlined admission process.

Delhi Airport Biometric Registration Gate

The new biometric gates at Delhi Airport are placed at the international arrival area. Currently, five kiosks are operational, with plans to double this number soon. These kiosks are designed specifically for foreign nationals whose biometric information was not collected during the visa application process. This innovative setup is a first for any airport in India and is operated under the direct supervision of the Bureau of Immigration (BOI).

Previously, passengers with visas who had not registered their biometrics faced longer wait times at designated immigration counters, averaging 4-5 minutes per passenger. During peak hours, these queues could extend even longer, causing delays. Now, with the new biometric registration kiosks, the time spent at the immigration counter will be reduced by more than half. Passengers can now complete their biometric registration upon arrival at the desks and then proceed to any immigration counter, greatly speeding up the process.

Enhancing Passenger Convenience

The introduction of these biometric gates is an effective step towards fast track immigration at Delhi Airport. This system not only speeds up the immigration check process but also enhances overall passenger convenience. By allowing visa-holding passengers to complete biometric registration upon arrival, the airport ensures a smoother and quicker entry into the country.

The new biometric registration process reflects Delhi Airport’s commitment to adopting advanced technologies. This initiative represents a major advancement in immigration processing, making Delhi Airport a pioneer in implementing such efficient systems.
