Big changes are coming to Tampa International Airport, and Delta Air Lines is at the forefront with a $1.5 billion expansion. The Tampa airport will get a new Terminal D, and Delta will be the first airline housed in this new, state-of-the-art facility.

The new Terminal D will include at least six gates exclusively for Delta flights. That means Delta will have an even bigger presence in Tampa. Also new for passengers is a Delta Sky Club lounge with an enhanced premium experience. This is great news for passengers who already fly Delta from Tampa to cities like Atlanta, Boston, New York, and Minneapolis. Delta also operates service from Tampa to Amsterdam and plans to announce a new nonstop to Austin, Texas.

Currently, Delta passengers can relax in the existing Sky Club at Concourse E, but the new lounge promises to take comfort and service to the next level.

Modern and Spacious Tampa Airport Terminal

Scheduled to be completed in 2028, TPA Airport Terminal D will have a total of 16 gates. It will also have a modern design with plenty of natural light to further enhance the travel experience. More than increasing the number of gates, the expansion will involve a new shuttle system, an improved international arrivals area, and a variety of new shops and restaurants.

Once Terminal D is completed, Tampa International Airport will likely serve about 37 million passengers a year. It brings a world-class airline into a world-class facility. Partnership with Delta ensures top quality for both domestic and international travelers. For those who often travel through Tampa, this is very exciting news as more flights, improved facilities, and an upgraded experience for Delta are ahead.

With new Delta gates, a bigger Sky Club lounge, and improved facilities, Tampa International Airport made traveling easier and more comfortable for travelers. The expansion will also house more international flights, meaning even more options for travelers.
