In an incredible achievement, India ranks fifth among the major passenger markets for Singapore’s Changi Airport. Despite the challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the airport experienced a significant recovery, with 328,000 flights and serving 58.9 million passengers by 2023. This represents an amazing 83% recovery above pre-pandemic levels.

Despite a significant drop in 2022, with just 32.2 million passengers, 2023 saw an 83% growth, reaching 58.9 million. December emerged as the most busiest month, with 91% of traffic levels in December 2019. The busiest day of the year, December 22, saw an outstanding 203,000 passengers pass through the airport, highlighting the holiday season’s travel spirit.

Changi Airport handled 328,000 flights in 2023, a slight decrease from 2019 but up significantly from 2022. Also, all connected regions showed hopeful signs of recovery, with North America leading the way at more than 25%.

Notably, North-east Asia gained the focus in 2023, with passenger traffic increasing over four times over the previous year.  Despite its success in passenger traffic, Changi Airport saw a 6% drop in cargo flows, which is linked to global economic instability and increasing inflation.
