This esteemed occasion, which takes place every year, acknowledges outstanding musicians, records, and live performances that have had a lasting impact on the music industry. The award ceremony highlighted the vitality and inventiveness that characterize today’s music landscape with a wide slate of candidates and riveting performances. This year’s Grammy was even special as India took home three awards.

Indian Artists Shine on the Global Stage

Highlighting India’s great musical history and significant presence in global music events, the Grammy Awards 2024 unfolded an important day for Indian music. The fusion group Shakti played a role at the forefront of this remarkable breakthrough. This group, which included a talented singer Shankar Mahadevan, and the tabla maestro Zakir Hussain, won the Grammy for Best Global Music Album for their innovative album “This Moment.”

Renowned Indian flutist Rakesh Chaurasia had a noteworthy accomplishment by winning two coveted Grammy Awards. Three nominations were made for his collaboration album “As We Speak”: Best Contemporary Instrumental Album, Best Instrumental Composition, and Best Global Music Performance. Rakesh won the coveted Grammys for Best Contemporary Instrumental and Best Global Music Performance after ultimately taking first place in two categories.

Queen of Musical Record Breakings

One of the night’s other prominent winners was Taylor Swift, who won Album of the Year for “Midnights” at the 2024 Grammys Awards.
