India’s largest low-cost carrier, IndiGo, officially began long-haul services on July 1 (to Manchester) and July 2 (to Amsterdam) using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners leased from Norse Atlantic Airways. IndiGo long haul flights to Manchester and Amsterdam will operate three times a week. The new IndiGo international flights will connect Mumbai to these two popular European destinations marking the airline’s first move into true long-haul travel.

What passengers can expect on IndiGo long haul flights to Amsterdam and Manchester?

IndiGo’s long-haul flights to Manchester and Amsterdam are operated on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, featuring 56 Indigo Stretch seats (2-3-2) and 282 economy seats (3-3-3). Passengers enjoy complimentary hot meals, wine, tea, and coffee. IndiGo Stretch passengers get 46 kg check-in baggage, 12 kg cabin allowance, and priority check-in. All of this will offer IndiGo passengers a premium experience on new international routes.

Strategic IndiGo Fleet Growth

To operate these routes, IndiGo leased four 787‑9 aircraft from Norse Atlantic Airways. The first has already entered service. A total of six widebodies may be available this year. They will support expansion until IndiGo’s own A321 XLR and A350 aircraft arrive, which are expected from 2027 onward.

Codeshare with British Airways

IndiGo already maintains a codeshare with British Airways, covering flights from India to the UK via London. This gives customers added value. Passengers can book a single international flight ticket from India to the US, Europe, or beyond. Furthermore, IndiGo also codeshares with American Airlines and Virgin Atlantic, allowing more access to North American cities through Europe.

IndiGo long haul flights to Manchester and Amsterdam opens up international travel for budget-conscious flyers. Along with this, codeshare agreements can help IndiGo offer affordable one-stop destinations to the US and beyond.

For cheap flights to USA from India and vice versa, you can rely on Indian Eagle travel. It is the most trusted flight booking partner for Indians and Americans in USA. For any Indian Eagle complaints or booking-related issues, call our customer service at 001-800-615-3969.
