Day 1: Record-Smashing Bids
The opening day of the IPL Auction 2025 saw a historic Rs 27.75 crore bid for Rishabh Pant, now the IPL’s most expensive player. Pant turned his near-fatal accident in 2022 into a story of triumph, reaching this milestone and inspiring many.
With a massive Rs 26.75 crore bid, Punjab Kings secured Shreyas Iyer, recognizing his captaincy that led KKR to their third IPL championship. They also retained Arshdeep Singh for Rs 18 crore using the RTM card and matched that investment to bring in Yuzvendra Chahal, bolstering their team.

Day 2: Young Talent Takes the Spotlight
Day 2 saw teams battling intensely in a bidding war for emerging and uncapped players. Marco Jansen, starting at Rs 1.25 crore, earned Rs 7 crore with PBKS. RCB roped in uncapped bowler Rasikh Salam Dar for Rs 6 crore, while PBKS grabbed Nehal Wadhera (Rs 4.20 crore). Abdul Samad also fetched Rs 4.20 crore for LSG.
Mumbai Indians entered late but left a mark, snapping up Trent Boult, Jofra Archer, and Josh Hazlewood for Rs 12.5 crore each.
In capped players, Washington Sundar went to Gujarat Titans for Rs 3.20 crore, while KKR secured Rovman Powell for his base price of Rs 1.5 crore.
