Ee sala cup namdu! Royal Challengers Bangalore were crowned the IPL 2025 winner, ending the wait of 18 years with a match that shall be remembered for decades to come. The last few overs were nothing but mesmerizing as fans inside the Narendra Modi Stadium kept chanting RCB! RCB! RCB! There was a sea of red at the stadium and a record 60 crore people tuned in on the official livestreaming platform, JioHotstar.

The vibes at the stadium were nothing less than exceptional. There were fans waving flags of both teams. However, most banners had one name; Virat Kohli. As the star batsman has been with Royal Challengers Bangalore for 18 years, people wanted to see him lift the IPL 2025 trophy. It was an emotional moment for Kohli and co. as they had worked hard throughout the season. Interestingly, AB de Villiers made a trip to India from South Africa to cheer for the team he was once a part of.

A Synopsis of the IPL 2025 Final

Punjab Kings won the toss and decided to bowl first in the much awaited IPL final. Batting first, Royal Challengers Bangalore had small but much-needed partnerships. Kohli missed scoring his half-century after being dismissed by PBKS bowler Azmatullah Omarzai at 43 off 35 balls. Jitesh Sharma was another key contributor making 24 in just 10 balls. Captain Rajat Patidar, Mayank Agarwal, Liam Livingstone, and Romario Shepherd all scored quick runs putting a decent total of 190/9 onboard.

Eager to lift their maiden IPL title, RCB displayed an excellent bowling attack. Krunal Pandya played a crucial role, taking two wickets with an economy of just 4.25. Bhubaneshwar Kumar took two wickets and displayed his exceptional experience. Josh Hazelwood, Yash Dayal, and Romario Shepherd took one wicket each. RCB players were great in fielding and avoided conceding extra runs, stopping Punjab Kings at 184/7. In the end, the team effort, prayers from millions of fans and luck helped RCB win their maiden IPL trophy.

Fans Celebrate across India

Just yesterday, we were discussing who will win the IPL 2025 final and now we have our answer, RCB! The scenes inside the stadium were overwhelming. Fans kept chanting for RCB and Virat Kohli. AB de Villiers entered the ground and Kohli ran to hug him. Virat got emotional and said that he has given his all for the team. He gave his youth, his prime and his experience. As RCB became the IPL 2025 winner, Kohli said that he has been with the team since the beginning and will continue to do so until he plays his last IPL match.

Fans across Indian cities such as Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi celebrated RCB’s win. At Bangalore, it looked like Diwali came early as fans celebrated RCB winning the IPL trophy by bursting crackers and lighting up the sky. Hundreds of thousands of people thronged the street and celebrated the team’s maiden IPL title. To celebrate it further, the team will be flying to Bangalore for a victory parade on 4th June 2025.
