As per a report by CRISIL Ratings, Indian airlines are likely to see their share in international passenger traffic increase by 700 basis points, reaching around 50% by FY28. The significant increase from 43% in the previous fiscal year marks a new development for the Indian aviation market.

The increase in international passenger traffic to around 70 million in FY24 from a pandemic-induced low of 10 million in FY21 indicates a strong recovery. Indian airlines have not only recovered but have surpassed pre-pandemic levels, creating a solid basis for future growth.
