Are you traveling via Mumbai Airport this December? If yes, make sure that you leave for the airport at least an hour earlier than you usually do for a smoother airport experience during this holiday season, which is currently witnessing heavy crowds at some of the busiest airports in India such as Delhi Airport and Mumbai Airport.
While Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport has been grappling hard to manage serpentine queues and check-in delays for the last few days, Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport recently recorded its highest single-day passenger movement since the pandemic. Anticipating a huge rush in the days leading up to Christmas and New Year celebrations, Mumbai Airport (CSMIA) officials issued an advisory instructing travelers to arrive at the airport at least 2.5 to 3.5 hours before their flight departure.
So, if you are traveling internationally, head to the airport at least 3.5 hours before the scheduled departure of the international flight, and for domestic travel, you are advised to reach the designated terminal 2.5 hours ahead to allow security checks and other pre-flight formalities go smoothly, as unaffected as possible by the recent congestion at the airport.
