Beijing looks spectacular during autumn, with all the golden hues, splashes of red, orange with the backdrop of the clear blue sky above. The fall season in the capital city of China starts from mid-October and continues till early November. Ditan Park

Located in the north of downtown central Beijing, Ditan Park shines all in gold during fall. All thanks to the ginkgo trees! Built in the year 1530 under the rule of the Mings, the park was the place where the emperors offered sacrifices to God. At the center of the park is Temple of Earth and it is from this temple that the park was named Ditan. You will also find an entertainment area having some rides. If you skip the special days like that of events, fairs and festivals, the park remains peaceful with ginkgo trees lined on the walkways, creating a breathtaking view for the spectators.

How to reach: Take subway line 2 and 5 to reach Yonghegong. It is only five minute walk from the metro station.

Miaofeng Mountain

The Miaofeng Mountain is mainly known for its unique pines, ancient temples, massive rocks and roses. It is recognized as the highest mountain in West Beijing. As per environmentalists, the vegetation coverage in the area is 90%. Tourists from across the world visit the place in large numbers during October and early November to witness the colors of fall. You can plan a trip during this time and enjoy the views of deep valleys, magnificent mountains, the green pines and red leaves. Situated in west Beijing, Yuyuantan Park is famous for its historical angling terrace (called diaoyutai in Chinese). During Jin Dynasty, the famous writer Wang Yu came here for fishing and this has remained to be the most favorite spots of the Jin Dynasty emperors for alluring nature. Today, the park is the site of Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. It is a kind of Chinese Camp David arranged for the foreign dignitaries. Talking about the special scenery during falls, the park has got large Ginkgo trees almost over 1000 and these turn into eh vibrant yellow color in the autumn months. How to reach: Get on lines 1 and lines 9 subway to reach the Military Museum and go to the Northern part of the China Millennium Monument to reach the park entrance.  

Mutianyu Great Wall

It is another favorite scenic spot of the emperors who ruled for years in China. The Mutianyu Great Wall is situated almost 20 kilometers from Huairong District. You can witness over 280,000 trees boasting colorful hues. Isn’t that marvelous? The best time to witness the magic of red leaves here is in the months of October and November. How to reach: You can board buses line 916 or 936 from Dongzhimen and get down at the Mutianyu Station.  

Beigong Forest Park

Situated in the Changxindian Town in Fengtai District, the Beigong Forest Park is among the most favorite of the locals to capture the view of the glowing red leaves and awe-striking natural beauty. Every year in autumn season, over 18000 hectares of the park area gets covered with leaves of different colors, red, green and golden. The majestic Hulu Lake in the middle of the park and the colorful leaves around, make a natural watercolor image.
