On one hand, Bengaluru Airport’s recently inaugurated Terminal 2 is gearing up for the commencement of flight operations from 29th December 2022 and on the other hand, the airport operator, Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL), announced the grand entry of this Garden Terminal into the Metaverse. BLR Metaport will allow travelers to experience Terminal 2 of Kempegowda International Airport even before they reach the terminal, whether they are flying into/out of the airport.
BIAL’s collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Polygon made BLR Metaport possible, and as per an official statement issued by the airport operator, Bengaluru Airport’s T2 is the first airport terminal in the world to offer a tour of the terminal in the metaverse. Air travelers can now get an immersive, three-dimensional (3D) experience of navigating through this state-of-the-art terminal, beautifully designed to replicate the experience of walking in a garden.
You can log in to www.blrmetaport.com, create your digital avatar and there you go! Explore the check-in counters, baggage and security check areas, boarding gates, seating spaces, restrooms, restaurants, and shopping stores at T2. You can also interact with fellow passengers in BLR Metaport.
Satyaki Raghunath, BIAL’s Chief Strategy and Development Officer, is quoted as saying, “This is our first foray into the world of Web3 and non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and we aim to delight travelers with a unique, immersive, and virtual experience.”
